Eamonn Brown Director EES Ltd gave up a day to work with other businesses from catering to banking, to work with teaching staff from Cardinal Wiseman School Coventry at the Ricoh Arena, home of Coventry City Football Club.
The day involved meeting over 200 children from year 11 who were interviewed by panels of four; two teaching staff and two representatives from the commercial world. In this exciting format children were asked to make a brief presentation highlighting their special attributes outlining why they will make good employees.
The exercise was a real experience with many children being interviewed for the first time. Parents were encouraged to attend and support each child. The experience proved to be invaluable for those taking part ending with constructive feedback on interview techniques and tips on presentation. Panel members were often very impressed with the maturity shown and effort put into the exercise.
For EES Eamonn Brown Managing Director said; “I really didn’t know what to expect, having interviewed hundreds of job applicants over the last twenty years you have heard and seen it all, I was very impressed with all the children I “interviewed”, attending an interview is never an easy experience and the benefits from this type of exercise are enormous, it was a pleasure to be involved and great opportunity to applaud these youngsters on their presentation manners and courage – well done!”
